Noyers, a village out of time
Tucked into a bend of the Serein river, Noyers is listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Half-timbered houses, arcaded squares, ramparts and towers: it feels like going back a few centuries.

What to see and do
The squares and half-timbered houses
Place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville, place du Marché-au-Blé: the timber-framed façades and arcades are stunning, especially in the late afternoon.
The ramparts and the riverside
A path follows the river below the ramparts and their towers. A peaceful walk, ideal for families.
The museum of naive and popular art
An unusual, colourful museum housed in an old school building in the village.
The Serein valley
Between Noyers and L'Isle-sur-Serein, the valley is quiet and green, and the Chablis vineyards are not far away.
Opening times change with the seasons: check before you go. Our favourite addresses (producers, restaurants, markets) are in the welcome book of every house.
Good to know
- Park at the entrance to the village and explore on foot.
- The village is small: allow half a day, with a break on a terrace.
- A lovely stop to combine with Avallon or Montréal.
